  • Naminé is an exceptional young horse with a lot to live up to. She is the first Arabian horse to grace the barnyard of Phoenician, and is really the starting point of my introduction and acceptance for this majestic breed. There couldn't be a better example of this ancient breed to start off and represent Phoenician's diversity. By the breathtaking chestnut stallion, Maharana, and out of the beautiful Safiya, this outstanding filly was bred specifically for Phoenician by Melissa of Karnak Arabians, and in my eyes, there couldn't have been a better match.

From her kingly sire, Naminé has inherited his rich golden colouring and correctness of structure. In the sunlight, this stunning filly shines like a sun goddess, radiating a beauty that causes her to seem dream-like and otherworldly. Though she does not posses the exact same solid chestnut coat of her sire, hers is a very unique coat -- in it a subtle blend of copper, gold, bronze and red. As so, her coat often glows a set of different shades as she moves about. It never stays the same, but is always subtly changing, and is absolutely amazing to behold.

From her dam, Naminé has gained the most precious gifts she could ever have -- the gift of inner beauty and the magnificence of an Arabian. Like her mother, this young filly already has a very giving heart, always giving and never taking. She has also inherited her mother's charm and elegance. It was hard finding a name to fit so elegant a filly, but in the end a most fitting name was found, one that suited her kindly nature and sweet ethereal beauty.

Her trusting nature makes her one of the fastest learners in the stable, for she is always keen to try something new, always giving everything 110% per cent each time, no matter what it costs her. Under her delicate exterior lies a truly strong and determined filly who never turns away from a challenge, no matter how hard it is or what's at stake. Naminé has gained a streamlined, refinedly delicate yet athletic body from her parents. Her implausible conformation and fluid motion is no doubt a great gift passed on to her from her legendaryl ancestors, no doubt created through generations of tireless breeding to create a horse of perfection. Though her parents are both Western trained horses, it is our wish that Naminé turns dressage-wise, for with her amazing movement, there is not a trace of doubt that she advance fantastically in that field. Already, she is proving herself to be a true gem in the show ring. She has excelled at general in-hand and prospect classes, pulling very impressive results at such a young age. She will be advancing into actual under-saddle competitions next year, and my only hope is that her rider can keep up with her!

No two horses can ever be the same -- each and every horse throughout the world is unique and different from all the rest, and Naminé is no different. However, this difference is emphasised strongly for her, as among the larger and bulkier Warmblood horses of Phoenician, Naminé is like a delicate rose petal, small and refined. Compared to them, she almost seems mythical, like a dream -- insubstantial yet real. Even so, she gets along well with her larger peers, and it is hoped that her grace and sophisticated maturity will somehow rub off into the other youngsters.

Naminé was named after a character in the PS2 game, "Kingdom Hearts 2" by Square Enix.
