When she was younger, Hart started off what promised to be a superb jumping career with a bang, receiving a reserve championship award in her very first outing. She was very talented, being able to judge distances between the jumps and correcting her rider when necessary. However, her showing career was cut short when she was involved in a car accident on the way home from a show. She managed to escape the wreckage alive, but with severe injuries -- she had broken her right fore cannon bone and received several gruesome cuts around her neck and withers. With the vet's diagnosis grim, she somehow managed to pull through. I took a chance and purchased her from her owners, offering their asking price and to pay her vet bills. It was a huge risk that paid off well. Hart was given plenty of time to recover, and plenty of loving care and slow exercises. After much patience and wholehearted care, Hart finally recovered, and her cannon bone healed sufficiently enough for her to move about more comfortably. She still moves about with a slight limp, but that does not seem to affect her overall.

Because of her past, Hart is a very responsive and sensitive mare, where even the slightest bit of emotion and tension can set her off and upset her. She has a beautifully sweet and sensible disposition, but because of her sensitivity she can also be very difficult to handle. She willingly does as she is told and never, ever rebels against what is asked of her unless tense, making her unsuitable to be around loud noises/children and inexperienced handlers.
