Cate is a gorgeous blue-black mare with bright, intelligent eyes and lovely personality and temperament. She was a successful jumper back in her days of competition, but was forced to retire after a serious hock injury. Now she spends her days lazing in the sun, watching protectively over her foals. Her first foal, a striking black colt by Adiract, is a perfect example of her ability of a broodmare. He is a big, spunky colt who shows potential in becoming a top competitor at show jumping. Cate produces big, healthy, and energetic foals who seem to enjoy being black, and with plenty of potential to be superstars.

So far, she seems to have a tendency of throwing colt foals, each as similar to the other. It seems to be almost routine for her, as so far four out of four foals from of her have been black boys, each so similar to each other that it is extremely freaky, making her Phoenician's most consistent producing mare. No one would be surprised if she threw another black colt at us in the 2008 season. In fact, people would probably faint of shock if she produced a filly instead!! Even so, if her current offsprings' show records are anything to go by, any foal by her would be a great success in the future.

Cyradis is named after a character from David Eddings' "The Mallorean" series of books.
